This is a default macOS block for apps not notarized by Apple. It does not mean the app is unsafe. Two ways to solve it:

Method 1 (Recommended):Go to 'System Settings' → 'Privacy & Security', find the blocked app at the bottom of the page, and click 'Open Anyway'.

Method 2 (Terminal):Run this in Terminal:

xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/CIVPN.app

After running this, you can open the app normally by double-clicking it.

Android only allows installs from the Play Store by default. You need to enable permission for sideloading:

  • Android 8.0 and above:A prompt will appear. Tap 'Settings' → Enable 'Allow from this source' for your browser or file manager, then go back to install.
  • Android 7.x:Go to 'Settings' → 'Security' → Enable 'Unknown sources', then reinstall the APK.

It's recommended to disable this permission after installation to keep your device secure.

Download the latest installer from this page and install it over the old version:

  • Windows / macOS:Just run the new installer and follow the wizard. Your settings and login status will be preserved.
  • Android:Install the new APK directly without uninstalling the old version.
  • Linux:Download the new package and run the installation command again, or replace the AppImage file.

Some versions will show an in-app update prompt that links directly to this page.

Yes. A single CIVPN account supports multiple simultaneous connections across Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux, sharing the same data pool.

Data used by each device is summed up in real-time. You can check your remaining data and usage details in your account dashboard.

AppImages require FUSE 2. You can install it using:

  • Ubuntu / Debian:sudo apt install libfuse2
  • Fedora:sudo dnf install fuse
  • openSUSE:sudo zypper install fuse

Run the AppImage again after installation. Alternatively, use the .deb or .rpm formats which don't require FUSE.
